Dum ka Qeema Recipe – It’s one of the traditional dishes of Pakistan. Dum ka Qeema is also named as kachri powder or galawat ka qeema. It is a mince dish in which mince is cooked slowly with many spices and herbs. Mince is first marinated with some yogurt, fried onions, raw papaya paste and other spices mentioned. In the recipe, raw papaya paste is added to tenderize the mince. Dum ka Qeema recipe has very spicy taste and made very moist and soft. Dum ka Qeema recipe has marinating time of 2 hours but it is cooked in a very short time once properly marinated and tenderized. Dum ka Qeema recipe goes awesome with Afghani chapattis and Naan. Coal smoke is given to the Qeema which gives it very yummy barbeque flavor.

دہی ۔۔ ایک پاؤ
نمک ۔۔ حسب ذائقہ
پسی لال مرچ ۔۔ 2 کھانے کے چمچے
گرم مصالحہ ۔۔۔ ایک کھانے کا چمچہ
بھنا زیرہ ۔۔ ایک کھانے کا چمچہ
مکھن ۔۔ ایک ڈلی
کچا پپیتا ۔۔ چار کھانے کے چمچے
لہسن ادرک ۔۔ 2 کھانے کے چمچے
تیل ۔۔ 2 کھانے کے چمچے
ہرا دھنیا ۔۔ ایک گٹھی
ہری مرچ ۔۔ 4 عدد

ترکیب:
ایک کلو قیمے میں ایک پاو دہی، حسب ذائقہ نمک، 2 کھانے جے چمچے پسی لال مرچ، ایک کھانے کا چمچہ گرم مصالحہ، ایک کھانے کا چمچہ بھنا زیرہ، ایک ڈلی مکھن، چار کھانے کے چمچے کچا پپیتا اور دو کھانے کے چمچے لہسن ادرک ڈال کر دو گھنٹوں کے لئے میرینیٹ کرلیں۔ اب اس کو کوئلہ کا دھواں دیں۔ پھر ایک پین میں دو کھانے کے چمچے تیل گرم کر کے دو عدد پیاز کو فرائی کریں اور ایک عدد ہری مرچ ڈالیں اور اوپر سے اس میں میرینیٹ کیا ہوا قیمہ شامل کریں اور بھون لیں۔ جب اچھی طرح بھن جائے تو اس میں ایک گٹھی ہرا دھنیا اور تین عدد ہری مرچیں کاٹ کر ڈالیں اور کوئلہ کا دھواں دے کہ سرو کریں۔

I have always thought that dum meant pressure cooker and things cooked under pressure are more tender and flavorful, and it is true in this dum ka keema recipe as well but the only difference is that dum ka keema desn't have to be made in a pressure cooker.

Dum ka keema is so much more easier than regular keema because you just place all the ingredients and start the pressure cooker.
