Bakre ke Paye or goat trotters is basically stew or broth made with goat trotters when these trotters are cooked in water with some ginger, garlic and spices like red chili, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt overnight so that the juice from the goat legs or trotters is extracted fully and mixed with the gravy . The juice which is taken out of these legs is very healthy and essential for bones and joints. Goat trotters are also taken as soup by some people but usually eaten with tandoori naan and chopped green chilies, coriander and sliced ginger. Bakre ke Paye can be served as a full course meal. It is mostly cooked in winter season to remain healthy and warm. Bakre ke Paye is also served in various restaurants in Pakistan and abroad. Bone marrow is added to the gravy of baker ke paye to make it more flavorful and healthy. Winters are the time to make mutton trotters. They are loved during the winter season. اجزاء:
بھنے ہوئے پائے 8عدد
پیاز دو عدد درمیانہ سائز
لہسن 12جوئے(موٹے کوٹے ہوئے)
نمک حسب ضرورت
سرخ مرچ ڈیڑھ چائے کا چمچ
سوکھی میتھی ایک کھانے کا چمچ
تیل حسب ضرورت

ترکیب:
پائیوں کو گرم پانی سے اچھی طرح دھو لیں۔ پھر ان میں نمک اور 6عدد لہسن کے جوئے ڈال کر گلنے کے لئے رکھ دیں۔ سوس پین میں تیل گرم کر یں اور اس میں پیازوں کو باریک کتر کے سنہری کر لیں۔ نمک مرچ شامل کر یں۔ لہسن ڈالیں اور 2منٹ کے لئے بھونیں، پھر ہلکی آنچ پر پیازوں کو گلا لیں۔ پائے گل جائیں تو انہیں یخنی سے نکال کر پیازوں میں ڈال کر بھون لیں۔ میتھی کے پتے ڈالیں اور مزید بھونیں تاکہ پائیوں کی بوجاتی رہے۔ یخنی ڈالیں اور حسب منشا شوربہ تیار کر لیں۔
نوٹ ۔ پائیوں کو دم پہ ضرور رکھیں۔ جتنی دیر دم پر رہیں گے اتنے مزیدار ہونگے۔

Bakre ke paaye are a perfect addition to the table, especially during Eid ul Azha when everybody is craving for this particular dish. The best thing about this dish is that it is healthy for the body and further on helps with digestion.

I made this recipe for my friend and husband and they adored it. My friend who is not a big eater for bakre ke paye asked for seconds and asked me if I could make them again. Really nice with the beef fritters also.
