Fenugreek seeds (Methi Dana) come from a plant named Fenugreek that's used as a seasoning ingredient in countries like the Middle East, Egypt, and India. Fenugreek (methi) acts as a substitute and the seeds are used as a herbal treatment for diabetes and high cholesterol.
Fenugreek seeds have small in size, roughly angular in, brownish yellow in color. Many have complained the seeds to have a bitter yet pleasing flavor; moreover it has an aroma that feels similar to the taste of a curry powder. The pebble-like seeds are often roasted to increase their aroma and have a powerful bittersweet, somewhat acrid taste. Fenugreek seeds (methi dana) are most commonly used in Indian and Pakistani cookery.
