I will prepare phirni on Eid ul Adha days to eat after eating meat dishes. Meat makes the chest and stomach acidic so I think it is good to eat some sweet to reduce acidity. Also drink some raita after eating the meat, it will help smooth digestion of the meat you ate.

Cool phirni is my weakness and whenever my home women have to assign me some task, they offer to make phirni for me and then I become ready to do for them. I always try to keep ingredients of its' recipe at home so whenever I feel like enjoying it, I ask them and then it is made within hours.

  • Zahida Minhas - Rawalpindi Jul 26, 2016

I am lacking cardamoms which refer to large black cardamom (bari ilaichi) . On the other hand, I do have green cardamom at home . Can I replace big cardamom with green cardamom in this recipe? Your help would be appreciated. Thank you!

  • Abbas Haider - Karachi Jul 22, 2016

A phirni tastes better only when it is converted into thick kheer like texture. Sometimes I ate it but while eating , there was a minor presence of ground rice which means it didn't merge and formed well to convert into proper phirni. So always try to ensure that rice is dissolved well and mixed with milk.
