• 1 onion
• 2 green chillies
• 1-inch root Ginger
• 1 clove Garlic
• 2 Teaspoons chopped Coriander leaves
• 1 ¼ lb. lean Beef, minced
• ½ Teaspoon ground cummin seeds 1 Teaspoon ground Coriander seeds
• ½ Teaspoon Turmeric powder
• ¼ Teaspoon ground Cloves
• ¼ Teaspoon ground Cinnamon
• 1 egg
• 2 slIces white Bread, crumbed
• Salt to taste
• Oil for frying
• 4 cartons yoghurt
How to make Meat Balls in Yoghurt (Dahi Kofta)
METHOD:
• Mince the onion, chillies, ginger and garlic.
• Put into a bowl with all the ingredients except the yoghurt.
• Mix well and shape into walnut-sized balls.
• Fry in hot oil and when brown drain well.
• Put yoghurt into a bowl and beat well.
• Add meat balls while still hot.
• Chill and serve cold.
• If liked add raisins and blanched almonds for extra flavour.
Note: Preparation time 10 minutes, Cooking time 15 minutes, To serve 4
