2 lb. fillets of cod or haddock Salt to taste
Juice of half a lemon
1 carton yoghurt
1 tablespoons vinegar
I teaspoon garam masala
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 teaspoon ground cummin seeds
½ teaspoon chilli powder
How to make Baked Spiced Fish (Tandoori Machi)
METHOD:
Wash and dry the fillets.
Sprinkle with salt and lemon juice.
Set aside for a few minutes to marinate.
Combine the yogurt with the rest of the ingredients.
Place the fish in a shallow baking dish.
Make two deep gashes across the fillets.
Pour the yogurt mixture over the fish and leave to soak for several hours.
Bake in a moderate oven (375° F. — Gas Mark 5) for 30 minutes.
Spicy baked fish is ready to eat.
Enjoy with raita and chutney.
