            1 ½ lb. beef or lamb
1 teaspoon saffron, soaked in
1 tablespoon water
1 oz. each pistachios, almonds, raisins
2 cloves garlic
1-inch fresh root ginger
2 onions
1 ½ , lb.pumpkin or marrow oil for frying
2 sticks cinnamon
2 cardamoms
1 teaspoon chili powder
Pinch of salt
        
 
        
            
                How to make Meat and Pumpkin Curry (Pathani Petha Gosht)
             
            METHOD:
            Trim meat and cut into cubes. Soak saffron in the water for an hour. Finely mince or chop pistachios, almonds, raisins, garlic and ginger. Chop onions; dice pumpkin or marrow and fry onions in a little oil until golden. Add nuts, raisins, garlic and ginger. Continue to fry for a few minutes then add meat, pumpkin, cinnamon, cardamoms, chilli powder and salt. Fry until pumpkin is cooked or pulped and meat tender.
