4 oz. rice, cooked and drained
3 teaspoons chilli powder
Salt to taste
½ teaspoon asafoetida (optional) oil or ghee for frying
How to make Fried Rice Balls (Rice Vadam )
METHOD:
Pound the cooked rice, chilli powder, salt and asafoetida to a paste in a mortar or grind in a liquidiser. Roll the paste into little balls. Arrange them on a clean tea cloth and put them in a warm place to dry. When completely dry they can be stored in an air-tight tin. When required, deep fry in ghee or oil until crisp. Drain and serve hot.
