سب سے پہلے ایک فرائنگ پین میں تھوڑا سا تیل ڈال کر پیاز کو ڈالیں ساتھ میں سفید زیرہ کٹی ہوئی مرچ، لہسن، ادرک، کٹا ہوا ڈالیں اور فوراً قیمہ ڈال دیں اور حسب ذائقہ نمک ڈال دیں۔ پھر ہلکی آنچ پر پکنے دیں اپنے ہی پانی میں قیمہ گل جائے گا جب پانی خشک ہو جائے تو ہری مرچ اور ٹماٹر ڈال کر تھوڑا سا دم دے لیں اور پتیلی اتار لیں قیمہ تیار ہے۔
