Types and Species of Trout Fish:

Trout fish belongs to Genera Oncorhynchus, Salmo and Salvelinus family. Different variations of trout fish are adriatic trout, brown trout, river trout, lake trout, sea trout, flathead trout and marble trout.

Trout is also known as fish of cold water and that is why it is found only in the rivers of Northern Areas of Pakistan. Trout fishing is considered as a sport activity mainly in Swat in different lakes, in Kanhar River in Balakot and Naran and at several points in Kaghan valley.

If you have visited Northern Areas of Pakistan, you must have heard about trout fishing in Naran valley. And interesting thing about the trout fish is that it is only available in Northern Areas i.e. Naran, Kaghan, Swat, Balakot, Skardu and Hunza valleys. If you live in Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad or other cities in Central or Southern Pakistan, you would keep missing Trout unless you make a tourism plan to any of the said areas.
