• Lotus roots. Or Bhen. 1kg
• Oil. 4tablespoons
• Onion one
• Garlic ginger paste. 2 tablespoons
• Coriander. 1 bunch of leaves
• Green chillies. 4
• Salt to taste
• Red chillie powder. 1 teaspoon
• Turmeric powder or Halidi 1. /2 Teaspoon
• Garam masala powder. 1 teaspoon
How to make Lotus (Bean) Curry
METHOD:
Wash the lotus roots in fresh water after scrubbingand peeling off the skin.
Cut the lotus roots diagonally into pieces.
Heat oil in a pan and fry chopped onion till golden brown.
Add ginger garlic paste and fry.
Add salt, chillies red, turmeric, and fry lightly.
Now add lotus root pieces and tomatoes chopped
Fry on low heat tilll tomatoes are cooked. Sprinkle water on and off.
When oil separates add 4 glasses of water and cook on medium heat.
When the gravy thickens and root pieces become tender remove from heat.
Garnish with garam masal, chopped green chillies and serve with roti.
