½ oz. fresh root ginger
1 dessertspoon ground white cummin seeds
½ teaspoon chilli powder
½ teaspoon garam masala
2 teasp ikons salt
2 teaspAns sugar
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 ½ pints (U.S. 3f cups) water
* 2 oz. tamarind, soaked in
¾ pint (U.S. 2 cups) water overnight.
FOR THE GARNISH

How to make Cummin Seed Drink (Jeera Pani)
METHOD:
*Squeeze the tamarind and discard the husk. Strain the liquid before use.
Chop mint and ginger. Mix with all the other in¬gredients. Add to the tamarind water and mix well. Taste and adjust the seasoning. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours and serve in small glasses without stirring.
