Refined flour (sieved) 1 cup
Almonds (chopped) 50 grams
Pistachios (chopped) 50 grams
Desiccated coconut 1 cup
Sugar 1 cup
Castor sugar ½ cup
Coconut milk powder ½ cup
Currants 50 grams
Baking soda ¼ tsp
Salt 1 pinch
Oil 4tbsp +
For frying
Water as required
How to make Sweet Puriyan
METHOD:
1.Mix flour,salt soda, 2tbsp oil and water and knead into dough. Cover and set aside for ½ hour.
2.Cook 2 tbsp oil, desiccated coconut, sugar, coconut milk powder, currents, almonds, 3.pistachios and castor sugar in a part for few minutes and remove from flame.
Make small balls from dough; roll them out. Place 1 tbsp of prepared mixture in the middle of each; fold over from all sides into pouches.
4. Heat oil in a pot; fry sweet puriyan till golden; remove on absorbent paper.
