Quail Fry - Batair Fry

This is a special and well liked dish in our house.By keeping the masala light and frying non stick for a short while makes them good for healthy eating.

Quails or Batair 8 cleaned and washed thoroughly
Yoghurt 1 cup
Red chillie powder 1 Teaspoon
Red chillie flakes 1 Teaspoon
Salt to taste
Turmeric / Haldi 1 Teaspoon
Garam masala one Teaspoon
Paprika 1 tablespoon
Oil for frying

For sides.
Red chillie sauce 1 cup
Dahi one cup and 1 Teaspoon chat masala
For salad--
Onion 1
Cucumber 1
Tomatoes 2

How to make Quail Fry - Batair Fry


In a bowl , marinade the quails with yoghurt,red chillie powder and flakes,salt,turmeric,garam masala,paprika,and leave overnight in fridge.
You can also marinade for 3 hours.
When ready to serve , take a fry pan and add oil.
When oil is hot, add quails/ batair one by one and fry till golden brown.Do not overfry.
Remove excess oil on kitchen paper and serve with dahi mixed with chat masala and red chillie sauce.
You can use naan or roti with it.
