Makhadi Halwa
This halwa has very basic ingredients like milk, Suji, ghee and sugar but the taste is just amazing and very much better than the traditional “Suji ka halwa “. Soaked semolina or Suji is cooked in sugar syrup which is cardamom flavored and until Suji is properly cooked. Dry fruits like almonds, cashews, pistachios are added and then served. This halwa is very quick and easy to make because semolina is easily available at every shop. Children also love this recipe. Makhadi halwa is one of the favorite sweets in Pakistan. It has a very rich and unique taste but also it is very nourishing. The sweet and soft texture of halwa with a little crunch of nuts is mouth watering. This Makhadi halwa is usually eaten in winters.
