Ingredients
Cooking Time: 15-20 minutes

• King fish (surmai) fillets,cut into 2 inch pieces 2
• Lemon juice 2 tablespoons
• Salt to taste
• Garlic paste 1 teaspoon
• Ginger paste 1 teaspoon
• Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
• Kashmiri red chilli powder 2 teaspoons
• Mustard seeds ,roasted 1 teaspoon
• Fennel seeds (saunf) 1 teaspoon
• Onion seeds (kalonji) 1 teaspoon
• Fenugreek seeds (methi dana) 1/2 teaspoon
• Black salt (kala namak) 1/2 teaspoon
• Mustard oil 2 tablespoons
• Yogurt,whisked 1 cup
• Butter,melted 4 tablespoons
How to make Fish Tikka Achari

METHOD:

-Place the fish fillets in a bowl; add the lemon juice, salt, garlic paste, ginger paste, turmeric powder and chilli powder and mix well.
- Heat a pan and dry-roast the mustard, fennel, onion and fenugreek seeds.
-Crush them along with the black salt with a mortar and pestle.
-Heat the mustard oil in a pan to smoking point. Set aside to cool.
- Add the yogurt to the fish along with the crushed spices and mix. Leave to stand for thirty minutes.
-Preheat the oven to 220°C/440°F/Gas 7.
- When the mustard oil cools completely, add it to the marinated fish and mix.
-Place the fish on a greased rack over a tray in the preheated oven. Cook, for ten to fifteen minutes or till done, basting with the butter once while cooking.
- Serve hot with naan or rice.
-Enjoy the meal :)

Good Recipe..and for the one who got her dish ruined here is the mistake u made: Either you have used excess of Saunf which gives a sweet taste or you might have used less fish. As stated above in the ingredients,2 fishes should be used and i dont think so 1 tsp of saunf and kalonji can ruin the dish.This is something which seems not to be possible.Good luck

dear frnd,i dont understand how saunf and onion seeds (kalonji) gave a sour/sweet taste.The quantity of both the ingredients is perfect i.e.1tsp. Infact these are added only to add a achari flavour.I have already tried this recipe before posting and it turned to be amazing.
