Ingredients
1 lb. chicken livers 8 oz. mushrooms 1 large onion
1 clove garlic
2 tomatoes
butter for frying
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
½ teaspoon chilli powder
½ teaspoon garam masala.
½ teaspoon ground coriander seeds ½ teaspoon ground cummin seeds
2 tablespoons yoghurt
Salt to taste
How to make Spiced Chicken Livers (Shahjehan Kaleja)

METHOD:

Wash and chop the chicken livers. Wash the mushrooms and slice. Slice the onion finely, crush the garlic and chop the tomatoes. Heat the butter and fry onion and garlic till soft but not brown. Add tomatoes and spices and fry for five minutes then add mushrooms and cook for a further five minutes. Put in the livers, yoghurt and salt. Simmer for 20 minutes. Serve with rice and grilled tomatoes.

Note: Preparation time 10 minutes, Cooking time 40 minutes, To serve 4
