Mutton Kunna Recipe (in English)


Ingredients:

  • Trotters: 6 pcs
  • Meat: 1 kg (large pieces)
  • Ginger Garlic Paste: 2 tbsp
  • Salt: as per taste
  • Onions: 2 (thinly chopped)
  • Red Pepper Powder: 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder: 1 tsp
  • Yogurt: 1 cup
  • Whole All Spice: 1 tbsp
  • Big Cardamom: 1-2 pcs
  • Black Cumin: 1 tsp
  • Flour: 1/2 cup
  • Oil: 1/2 cup

Garnishing Ingredients:

  • Julienne Ginger: as you like
  • Lemon: as you like
  • Green Coriander: as you like
  • Green Chillies: as you like

NOTE:
If you don't want to use trotters, cook without them. You can adjust the number of green chillies as per taste.


Method

  1. Mix flour in water and dissolve using a spoon. Make a thick paste.
  2. Heat oil in a pot on medium flame for 3 to 4 minutes.
  3. Once it is lightly hot, add whole all-spice.
  4. When it starts crackling, mix and cook a bit until spice becomes golden brown.
  5. Then add ginger garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Add meat and cook until oil appear in a separate layer.
  7. Add salt, red pepper, turmeric, big cardamom and black cumin to yogurt, mix well and pour the mixture on meat.
  8. Add flour paste into the pan.
  9. Add 4 to 6 cup water, cook on low heat until meat is tenderized well.
  10. Kunna Paya is ready to serve.


Presentation:

  • Remove in a serving dish and garnish with thin ginger slices, green chillies, green coriander and lemon.
  • Serve with tandoori naan or chapati.
