• Beef steaks 1 kg
• Yogurt 1 cup
• Mustard oil 1 cup
• Mint 1 bunch (chopped)
• Onions 1 (finely cut)
• Black peppercorns 6
• Green cardamoms 8
• Green chillies 4 (chopped)
• Lemons 4
• Whole red chillies 10
• Coriander seeds 1 tbsp
• Raw papaya paste 3 tbsp
• Ginger paste 2 tbsp
How to make Bihari Steaks
METHOD:
1. Roast red chillies, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, cardamoms, black pepper, grams and poppy seeds on a griddle and grind.
2. Pound steaks with mallet. Apply yogurt, ginger and raw papaya and set aside for 1/2 an hour.
3. Heat 1/2 cup of mustard oil and fry onions until golden.
4. Add marinated steaks and fry. Leave to cook over low flame.
5. When water starts to dry, add mustard oil, mint, lemon juice and green chillies.
6. Cook on dum for 15 minutes.
7. Serve delicious Bihari Steaks hot.
