Ingredients
8 raw green bananas (plantains) 2 green chillies
oil for frying
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 teaspoon turmeric powder salt to taste
1 carton yoghurt
1 teaspoon garam masala
How to make BANANA CURRY (KELA CURRY)
Method
Cut bananas into 1-inch slices, chop the chillies.
Heat some oil in a saucepan and fry the mustard seeds and chillies until the mustard seeds pop.
Add turmeric, fry for a minute and add the bananas and salt.
Fry for a few minutes before adding the yoghurt and garam masala.
Cook gently for about 20 minutes.
Note: This is a special type of banana called plantain. It is available in West Indian grocery shops.
