1 cup of Plain Yogurt
1 cup of Sour Cream
3 Cucumbers (seeded & chopped)
1 Tomato (seeded & chopped)
4 cloves of Garlic (Lehsan) (crushed)
1 tsp. of Ground Cumin (Pisa Zeera)
½ tsp. Paprika
Salt (to taste)
Black Pepper (Pisi Kaali Mirch) (grounded - to taste)
A few strands of Fresh Cilantro/Coriander Leaves (Hara Dhania) (for garnish) (optional)
How to make Raita By Chef Fauzia
METHOD:
In a salad bowl, whisk together the plain yogurt , sour cream, cumin, paprika and garlic.
Add cucumbers and tomatoes; toss and chill before serving.
For a thinner raita, add a little bit of water. And optionally garnish with cilantro/coriander leaves.
Note: "Raita is usually considered a Pakistani salad and sauce. This is great served with any spicy dish!
