Potato ½ kg
Tomatoes 1-2 thinly chopped
Onion 1
Ginger/ garlic paste 1 tbsp
Red chilli powder 1 tsp
Turmeric powder ½ tsp
Fennel 1 tsp
Fenugreek seeds ¼ tsp
Rye ½ tsp
Sesame seeds 1 tbsp
Green chilli paste as required
Lemon juice 1 tsp
Ghee/ oil ½ cup
Salt as required
How to make Nepali Tarkari
METHOD:
Heat oil then frying fenugreek, rye and fennel till them crackle. Now add potatoes and fry for while. then add ginger/ garlic paste. Salt, red chilli, powder, green chilli paste, turmeric and tomatoes and fry. When water from tomatoes dry off, add onion and cook till potatoes are tender. Sprinkle sesame on top and cover with lid and cook on low heat fro 5 minutes in the add lemon juice and mix well.
