Bitter Gourd: 1 kg
Potatoes: 1/2 kg
Onions: 1/2 kg
Cumin Seeds: 1/2 tsp
Salt: as per taste
Red Pepper: as per taste
Lemons: 3 pieces

How to make Mazedar Aalu Karela


Before cooking bitter gourds, wash them well, wrap in a cloth and wring the water out. This will help remove bitterness of the gourds.
Cut bitter gourd into small chunks and fry well.
Then fry onions until golden brown.
Then fry potato chunks well.
Once fried, add red pepper, cumin seeds, salt and lemon.
Mix and cook for couple of minutes.
Now cover the pan, and cook on steam (dam) for 10 minutes or until done.
A delicious aloo karela recipe is ready.
Enjoy with hot naan and chapati.
