500 grams khoya
250 grams semolina
100 grams ground sugar
250 grams ghee
1/2 tip baking powder
5 eggs
1/2 tsp saffron (dissolved in 1 thlsp of hot milk)
50 grams each of almonds and pistachios (blanched and sliced)
1 tsp cardamom powder
METHOD:
Mix together the khoya, semolina, sugar, ghee, baking powder and eggs and beat well till the mixture turns very smooth, like cake batter. Mix in the saffron and 3/4 of the nuts and divide between three greased, medium-sized thalls. Spread cardamom powder evenly on top and sprinkle with Ilse remaining nuts. Bake in a moderate oven till it turns a rich golden colour. (Also insert a toothpick at the centre and if it comes out clean, remove from fire.) Serve hot or cold.
