Peel off prawns and wash. Don't remove tails.

Marination ingredients: Salt, Ground White Chili and Garlic

Mix marination ingredients with prawns

Once marinated, store prawns in refrigerator for 10 to 15 minutes

Coating ingredients: all purpose flour, maize flour, egg and soda water

Mix all purpose flour, maize flour and egg in a bowl well

Now add soda water to the mixture and make a thick paste

Dip marinated prawns completely in the flour batter

Now put one prawn in the oil to check if oil is not excessively hot

Now put all prawns one by one to the oil and deep fry at low flame

When one side is fried, revert them to fry other side

When they turn golden brown, transfer them in a strainer

Place them on a kitchen tissue so that its oil gets absorbed

Eat hot prawn tempura with raita and enjoy the tastes of seafoods


Cooking Prawns Tempura Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Prawns (large size): 1 kg
  • Salt: as per taste
  • Crushed Garlic: 1 teaspoon
  • White Chili Powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Oil: for frying

For Mixture:

  • All Purpose Flour: 1 cup
  • Corn/Maize Flour: 3/4 cup
  • Egg: 1 pcs
  • Soda Water: as required

Method


  1. Peel off prawns, clean well, marinate with salt, garlic and white chili and store in refrigerator for 1/2 hour.
  2. To make mixture, make a paste of all purpose flour, corn flour, egg and soda water and store in fridge for 10 to 15 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a karahi or a frying pan, dip prawns one by one in the mixture and fry at medium flame in hot oil until they are golden brown in color. Make sure they are cooked thoroughly from inside as well.
  4. Fry less number of prawns at a time in order to fry well.

 

NOTE:

  • You can also fry fish and different kinds of vegetables such as cauliflower and potatoes with this mixture.
     
  • Apply salt on prawns and leave for 5 to 10 minutes, then rinse with water. This will remove the odor.
