It's taste and presentation is awesome which makes it different from regular baklava recipes. It gives a variety to our menu and I simply love to make it myself and eat it. Hide

How to make Baklava Sweets

METHOD:

Place all filling ingredients in a bowl and mix them well.
Filling is ready.

Now place all syrup ingredients together in a saucepan and bring them to boil.
Keep stirring sugar so that it dissolves well in the mixture.
Simmer for 10 minutes and then remove from the stove. Let it cool at room temperature.
Baklawa Syrup is ready.

Brush a 12x10 inch baking dish with butter.
Also brush 10 filo sheets with melted butter.
Lay all sheets on the dish one by one.
Spread the filling in the dish.
Now top it off with further 10 to 12 pastry sheets; butter each sheet accordingly.
Cut off the excess pastry hanging outside the baking dish.
Now brush the top of pastry with more butter.
With a sharp scoring knife, score the top layers in square shapes.
Now bake it in a preheated oven at 160c (325F) for 1 hour or until the top part turns golden brown in color.
(If you observe that top side is turning color very quickly, then cover the top with a foil.
Once baked, remove from the oven and pour the syrup slowly over the top.

Leave it for 8 hours to completely absorb the syrup.

Delicious Baklawa is ready.
Serve and enjoy.
