Quick Home Remedies for Sensitive Teeth

Remedy 1 | Salt Water

Salt water is very useful for oral problems including throat and teeth. It is one of the easiest remedies for sensitive teeth treatment. It forms alkaline environment in the mouth which helps eliminates bacteria and thus relieving the pain. Salt water also relieves the pain and cures sore gum problem.

Usage Tip

  • Add 1/2 tbsp salt to 1 glass warm water.
  • Rinse mouth with this solution well.
  • Keep it for a while inside and then spit out.
  • Do this two times a day.

Remedy 2 | Garlic

Garlic is very helpful for sensitive teeth. Garlic contains a powerful antibacterial Allicin which also has anesthetic properties. Garlic removes the sensitivity pain and eradicate germs inside the mouth.

Take a clove of garlic, couple of water drops and salt. Crush and mix to prepare a thick paste. Apply the paste on the tooth. Wait for couple minutes and then wash with lukewarm salt water. Do this two times a day until you feel betterment.

Remedy 3 | Cloves

Cloves is the most common home remedy for sensitive teeth. It is largely used in many dental products worldwide. It contains anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and anesthetic properties that are helpful to fix sore tooth problem. Cloves are also helpful to fight different kinds of mouth infections.

Usage Tip

Grind 2 cloves and make a paste with olive oil. Apply it on affected tooth, let it sit for half hour. Do this for some days until you feel improvement.

Remedy 4 | Onions

The quercetin flavonoids in onions make it an anti-inflammatory agent. It provides relief in dental pain especially caused by sensitive teeth. It also eliminates bacteria inside the mouth that cause different mouth infections.

Usage Tip

Take a small piece of raw onion and place it on the affected tooth for 5 minutes. Then wash your mouth with warm salt water.

Remedy 5 | Coconut Oil

Coconut oil helps relieve tooth sensitivity. It is naturally an antibacterial agent which is very helpful to remove plaque on the teeth. Oil pulling with coconut oil is also helpful in toothache and several gum diseases.

Usage Tip

  • Put 1 tbsp extra-virgin pure coconut oil in mouth.
  • Move it inside for 15 minutes.
  • Spit the oil out and wash your mouth with warm water.
  • Then brush your teeth as usual.

Note: Do not swallow the oil as it may contain hazardous bacteria from your teeth.
