Potato Vada

Ingredients

½ kg Potatoes
6 Green chillies
a small piece of Ginger(ground)
2 tbsp Sugar juIce of one Lemon
10 to 12 Raisins
2 tbsp fresh cocnut (grated)
2tbsp corlander leaves (chopped)
150 gms gram flour (besan)
1 cup Water a pinch of asafetida
1tsp turmeric
1tspred Chilli powder
Salt to taste

How to make Potato Vada

METHOD:

Boil peel and mash the potatoes with a fork. Make into smooth pulp . Then add the green Chillies, ginger, sugar, lemon juice, rasisins, coconut and coriander leaves. Mix well. Now make firm lemon sized balls and seta side.

In a separate vessel, mix together the besan, water, asafetida, turmeric and red chilli powders and salt, and make a thin batter. Cover each potato ball with the batter and deep fry on a medium fire till golden brown.Serve hot with coriander chutney.
