|heat a cup of water in pan|
|add green tea powder|
|cook on low heat and add cardamoms|
as half water evaporates, add a pinch of baking soda and cook for 3 to 4 minutes
|when it starts getting brownish, switch the stove off|
|pour a cup of cold water slightly into the pan and keep beating along|
|when qahwa is red, add milk|
|to give dam, heat it on low flame for 10 minutes|
|add chopped almonds, pistachios and sugar and serve|
Method of Making Kashmiri Tea
- Almonds and Pistachios: as per taste
- Water: 1 cup
- Milk: 1/2 kg
- Sugar: as per taste
- Green Cardamom: 2 to 3
- Baking Soda: 1 pinch
- Gree Tea Powder: 1 teaspoon
- Cold Water: 1 cup
- Almonds: as required (chopped)
- Pistachios: as required (chopped)
- Add a cup of water in a pan and heat on stove. When it simmers, add green cardamoms and a teaspoon of green tea powder. Cook for 10 minutes at low heat until water
is reduced to half cup.
- Now to make it pinkish in color, add a pinch of baking soda and cook for 3 to 4 minutes at low heat.
- When it becomes brownish, turn stove off.
- Add a cup of cold water (pour slowly) and keep beating.
- As qahwa becomes reddish, add milk and mix. Place on stove at low heat for dam.
- Refreshing and pleasant Kashmiri chai is ready to serve.
- Top with almonds, pistachios and sugar before serving. Enjoy.
