Aloo ki Bhujia Recipe

• 1 onion finely chopped
• 4 tablespoons vegetable Oil
• 500g (1 1/4 lb) Potatoes, peeled and dIced
• 1 Teaspoon Salt
• 1/2 Teaspoon Cayenne pepper
• 1/2 Teaspoon ground turmeric
• 1/4 Teaspoon ground cumin
• 2 Tomatoes finely chopped


How to make Aloo ki Bhujia



1. Brown onion lightly in oil through medium size frying pan.
2. Stir in salt, cayenne, turmeric and cumin then add potatoes and cook till 10 minutes and stirring occasionally.
3. Add tomatoes, cover pan and cook until potatoes are soft, about 10 minutes. Then gurnish it through coriander and serve hot Aloo ki Bhujia.

My grandmother makes a very delicious potato bhujia that no other can make. She even gave the recipe to my mother but my mother cannot generate the taste that is in the hand of my grandma. Love that taste and only that's the taste which makes us love an aloo bhujia.

I think aloo ki bhujhia is the most cooked dish in Pakistan India and Bangladesh. I have seen many people only buying potatoes from the vegetable market and probably they are going to make aloo bhujia which requires only potatoes as main ingredient as well as some spices in very low quantity.

What is cayenne pepper actually? I make aloo bhujia already but never heard about this pepper. I put red pepper powder, little black pepper and other spices are common. I wished to try a new recipe for making bhujia but stuck at this cayenne pepper..

The peppers we have used so far are red pepper, paprika, black pepper but I have no idea about cayenne pepper. Would you make it a bit clearer? And for example , if it is not available what to do? which one to use in replacement?
