heat a cup of water in pan

add green tea powder

cook on low heat and add cardamoms

as half water evaporates, add a pinch of baking soda and cook for 3 to 4 minutes

when it starts getting brownish, switch the stove off

pour a cup of cold water slightly into the pan and keep beating along

when qahwa is red, add milk

Method of Making Kashmiri Tea

Ingredients:

  • Almonds and Pistachios: as per taste
  • Water: 1 cup
  • Milk: 1/2 kg
  • Sugar: as per taste
  • Green Cardamom: 2 to 3
  • Baking Soda: 1 pinch
  • Gree Tea Powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Cold Water: 1 cup

For Garnishing:

  • Almonds: as required (chopped)
  • Pistachios: as required (chopped)

Method

  1. Add a cup of water in a pan and heat on stove. When it simmers, add green cardamoms and a teaspoon of green tea powder. Cook for 10 minutes at low heat until water
    is reduced to half cup.
  2. Now to make it pinkish in color, add a pinch of baking soda and cook for 3 to 4 minutes at low heat.
  3. When it becomes brownish, turn stove off.
  4. Add a cup of cold water (pour slowly) and keep beating.
  5. As qahwa becomes reddish, add milk and mix. Place on stove at low heat for dam.
  6. Refreshing and pleasant Kashmiri chai is ready to serve.
  7. Top with almonds, pistachios and sugar before serving. Enjoy.

Just a little information guys. The real kashmiri tea is not made with sugar but with salt, hence the name "Noon Chai". We in kashmir dont add sugar to our tea although the rest of the tea making process remains the same. Enjoy and lots of love from kashmir to Pakistan.
