How to Make Bhari Hui Bhindi Recipe

Wash okra and make slits length-wise.

Roast fennel seeds, cumin and whole red chilies on tawa and grind them into powder.

Mix tamarind juice, salt and ground spice together in a bowl.

Stuff okra with this mixture and store in refrigerator for 10 to 15 minutes.

Heat oil for 3 to 4 minutes in frying pan; and then fry okra for 2 to 4 minutes on high flame.

Lower flame and cook for 5 to 7 minutes; then remove pan from stove.

Tasteful stuffed bhindi is ready to serve.


Bhari Hui Bhindi/Stuffed Okra Recipe

 

Ingredients:

  • Okra: 1 kg
  • Salt: as per taste
  • Fennel Seeds: 1 tablespoon
  • Whole Coriander: 2 tablespoons
  • White Cumin: 1 tablespoon
  • Whole Red Chilies: 6 to 8 pcs
  • Thick Tamarind Juice: 1/2 cup
  • Cooking Oil: 1/2 cup

 

Method

  1. Wash okra/bhindi and make cuts length-wise.
  2. Roast fennel seeds, cumin and red chilies on tawa and then grind together. Mix with salt and tamarind juice.
  3. Fill okra slits with this mixture and place in refrigerator for 15 minutes.
  4. Heat oil in pan for 3 to 4 minutes on medium flame. First fry okras on fast flame for 2 to 3 minutes and then cook pan covered on low flame for 5 to 7 minutes and remove from the stove.
  5. Delicious stuffed okra is ready to serve.

 

Tip:
To prevent slime in okra, wash them and dry before cutting.
