1 medium onion
1 habanero chilli-preferably red or green
4 magi beef stock cubes
smooth peanut butter 3 table spoons full
tomato paste-good quality-1 table spoon full
lemon juice 1/4 to 1/3 cup adjust after tasting
dim sim vegetarian or beef
DON'T ADD SALT, magi cubes already have enough salt
How to make Baked/BBQ Dim Sim
METHOD:
Keep dim sim out of the freezer a night before and cut them long way.
Preheat fan forced oven at 1800-2000 C.
Cut and put onion and habanero in chopper and chop them together.
Add lemon juice, tomato paste, peanut butter and magi cubes and mix in chopper. DON'T add salt.
Put in a bowl and taste this marinade .. salt should be more than you use in routine dishes and it should be very sour, you can add more lemon juice at this stage.
Now add dim sim to the bowl and mix well so that they are nicely coated.
Put foil on a baking tray so that it will be easier to clean it later on.
Place dim sim on the baking tray, if any marinade is left in the bowl put it over the dim sim so that they are nicely coated with it.
Put in the middle rack of the fan forced preheated oven ..upper rack is the hottest.
There is no time estimation for their cooking, just see when they are golden from one side,turn them,they need to be turned only once.. now keep them in the oven for a little more time and they will be ready to be served.
Its a very tasty & quick snack. A unique flavor for your guests. these are best when served hot like patties.
