Malai Kofta

Today I am presenting an easy malai kofta recipe to prepare and enjoy at home. Malai or creamy kofta is the classical mughlai dish originated from North India in Mughals era. Koftas are first fried with cheese in thick tomato soup which is then mixed with cream and then boiled. Finally we get this delicious creamy meatballs. (chicken malai kofta recipe in Urdu)

Ingredients
Beef or Chicken Mince: 500 grams
Oil: 1 cup
Onion: 2 chopped
Chopped Onions: 6 tbsp
Fresh Yogurt: 350 grams (for meatballs)
Green Chillies: 4 tbsp
Yogurt: 4 tbsp (for gravy)
Ginger Paste: 4 tbsp
Cream: 2 tbsp
Corn Flour: 2 tbsp
Garlic Paste: 2 tbsp
Red Pepper Powder: 1 tbsp
Coriander Powder: 1 tbsp
Bay Leaves: 1 leaf
Salt: as per taste
Green Coriander: for garnishing
Green Chillies: for garnishing
How to make Malai Kofta

METHOD:

Mix salt, green chillies, corn flour, chopped onions, yogurt and ginger with the mince. Chop the mixture well.
Make small round meatballs.
Heat oil in a pan and fry onions until they turn golden brown.
Remove onions from pan and crumble. Add yogurt, salt, garlic paste, red pepper powder and coriander and cook until water is dried and oil is separated.
Add water and heat on fast flame for 3 more minutes.
Add meatballs to pan and cook for 10 minutes without moving the spoon.
Finally add green coriander and green chillies.
Malai kofta is ready. Serve hot.

Thanks for sharing this malai kota recipe. It is a nice kofta dish. I hope you would offer it step by step recipe as you presented recipes before. I had prepared it before but I forgot the exact recipe. Now I will make it on the coming Sunday.
