Soak mung beans in water


Cut fenugreek, wash and store in a pot


Spice Ingredients


Heat oil in cooking pot and roast garlic cloves


Add green and whole red chili and roast


Add mung lentil and mix


Add salt and crushed red pepper


Cook for 5 minutes


If lentil starts becoming tender, add fenugreek and leave for cooking at low heat


Tasty Methi Mong Daal is Ready to Serve.

Cooking Methi Moong Dal Subzi

Ingredients:

  • Oil: 1/4 cup
  • Fenugreek: 1 kg
  • Salt: as per taste
  • Crushed Red Pepper: 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic: 25 to 30 cloves (the more the garlic is used the tastier it will be)
  • Whole Red Chili: 15 to 20 pcs
  • Green Chili: 20 to 25 pcs
  • Mung Beans: 1/4 kg (soak in water for around an hour)

 

Method

  1. Heat oil in wide-mouthed cooking pot and fry garlic cloves in it.
  2. Add green and whole red chilies when garlic starts turning brown.
  3. See if green chili is fried and lighter in color, add salt, crushed red pepper and mung beans and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. When mung lentil begins becoming tender, add fenugreek and mix well. Leave for cooking at low flame. When lentils and fenugreek, both are tender, and also fenugreek liquid is dried, methi daal is ready to serve.
     
  5. It should be remembered to not to let mung beans get softer too much otherwise it will break. It must remain intact.
     

NOTE:

Make a little slit on green chilies to fry it with ease.
