Ingredients:

  • White Chickpeas: 2 cups
  • Onions: 1 cup
  • Garlic: 4 to 5 cloves
  • White Cumin Powder: 1 tablespoon
  • Coriander Powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt: as per taste
  • Paprika Powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon Juice: 1 tablespoon
  • Breadcrumbs: 1 cup
  • Eggs: 2 cups
  • Parsley or Green Coriander: 4 tablespoons
  • Bicarbonate of Soda: 2 pinches
  • Oil: For frying


Method

  1. Soak white chickpeas for 2 to 3 hours.
  2. Dissolve salt and bicarbonate of soda in water and boil chickpeas in this water.
  3. Add onions, garlic, coriander powder, white cumin powder, salt, paprika powder, powdered red pepper, lemon juice,
    and green coriander or parsley to chickpeas. Now grind finely in a chopper and transfer to a pot.
  4. Now mix breadcrumbs and eggs in this mixture and form kabab-shaped falafels with your hands.
  5. Shallow fry in oil.
  6. Revert when fried from one side.
  7. Serve in a dish when fully fried.

To those who don't know, Falafel is very different from the usual kabab recipe. It tastes different, smells different and has a different texture. Falafel for me is something a lot better than kabab because falalfel is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.
