Almonds are usually used to prepare sweet dishes and desserts. Almonds are added in Sheer Khurma, Cakes, Biscuits, Custards, Halwa, Kheer and in many other sweets and desserts. Use of almonds in foods is not limited to Pakistan and India, it is part of all cuisines in the world. From cakes of largest bakeries of the world to badam phirni of local streets vendors, almonds are the same, the heart of the recipes.

Almonds are used in different forms in foods. They are ground, chopped, blanched or used intact or as paste in different kinds of recipes, as per the requirement of the recipe. Ground almonds are used in cooking vegetable korma, cakes, biscuits, sauces, cookies and pizzas. Blanched almonds are mostly used to make jelly cakes, halwa, rabri, meethe chawal (desi dish), some sort of daals, barfi and kulfi. Chopped Almonds are used to make Cassata, Ice Creams, Chocolate Pizza, Firni, Pera and some other sweets.
