Boneless Chicken ½ kg (cut into 1 inch cubes)
Capsicum 1 (cut into small squares)
Onion 1 (cut into small squares)
Egg 1
Tomatoes 2 (chopped)
Green chilies 4 (chopped)
Oil ½ cup
Garlic paste 1 tsp
Red chili powder 1 tsp
Salt 1 tsp
Chili sauce 2 tsp
Ketchup 2 tsp
Black pepper ½ tsp (crushed)
Coriander leaves 2 tbsp (chopped)


How to make Chicken Jalfrezi



Marinate chicken cubes with salt, chili powder, black pepper, chili sauce and ketchup for 30 minutes.
Heat oil in a wok.
Fry garlic paste with tomatoes for 5 minutes.
Add marinated chicken, cook till chicken is done and oil starts to float.
In a frying pan heat oil, fry cubed capsicum and onion for 2 minutes till soft.
Beat eggs with a pinch of salt and pepper, fry and slice in cubes.
Add fried capsicum, onion and omelet cubes to cooked chicken.
Garnish with chopped coriander and green chilies.
Serve hot.

How to Make Chicken Jalfrezi Recipe (Summarized Method):


First you need to marinade chicken cubes with the mixture of salt, black pepper, chili powder, chili sauce and tomato ketchup. Leave chicken marinated for 30 minutes. Then heat oil and fry garlic paste along tomatoes for 5 to 6 minutes. Then put marinated chicken into the pan and cook until chicken is cooked completely as well as oil appears inside the pan.
In another pan, heat some oil and fry capsicum and onions for 2 to 3 minutes unless they are soft. Then you need to beat eggs with bit salt and pepper; then fry the eggs and cut into cubes. Then mix fried capsicum, egg cubes and onions to the chicken. Sprinkle chopped coriander and green chilies to give it the final look.

Hot and spicy chicken jalfrezi is ready to eat.

Serve and enjoy with egg fried rice.

What is Chicken Jalfrezi?


Jalfrezi (also written as zalfrezi, jaffrazi, jhal frezi etc.) is a curry food from Pakistani cuisine in which marinated chicken, fish or vegetables are deep fried in order to form a thick dry sauce. Chicken jalfrezi includes mainly chicken cubes or boneless chicken pieces. Additionally, it involves capsicums, onions, eggs, tomatoes, salt, red and green chili, coriander and garlic sauce.

similar to jalfrezi there are many sweet and sour dishes and if you search some Chinese recipes, you would find many of them that in other case, no one knows about in Pakistan. When I have no option left for cooking, I try any Chinese dish.

I agree Bushra, I too make it myself and enjoy a lot. But let me tell you that when you are making it, you would have to start from the morning. it takes time, you must know that and then you could not be able to serve it in the lunch, you would have to serve it in dinner.
